  • A group of dogs from Somerville and Arlington on a walk at Castle Island

    Hikes/Walks/Half-Day Trips approx $37-47

Dogs go on a group walk/hike for a minimum of 2 hours + drive time. Most dogs are out of the house for 3-6 hours total. Your dog is picked up and dropped off at your home, no extra charge.

Dogs must be at least 7 months old, spayed or neutered and up to date on rabies and kennel cough vaccines. Dogs must not exhibit any aggression or barking reactivity, including “leash excitement.” When one dog starts verbally reacting, they all can start and lead to an unsafe situation. Safety is our priority! If your dog has some anxiety but it doesn’t manifest as barking or some other group-affecting behavior, we may still be able to bring them on. Please note this in your application.

Dogs of any size are welcome! We encourage small dogs to join - our focus is not just on exercise, but also companionship, socialization, smelling all the smells and seeing all the sights.

We visit a variety of environments (woods, bike paths, open fields, beaches, city & suburbs, etc) and do a mix of on-leash and semi-off-leash walks. All walks are group walks, generally 6-8 dogs per handler. We do not offer solo walks.

Initially, you will be charged per walk at $47 per walk. After 6 months, if you are determined to be a long term customer (which most are!) you will be moved to a subscription service (same amount every month) which can bring your average price per walk down to as low as $37/walk depending on how often you cancel. Details will be discussed at your in-home consultation before we bring you on as a client.

  • A dog boarding at Tail Trekkers' owner's home comfortably laying on a dog bed belly exposed

    In-Home Boarding $65/night

Your dog will stay at our owner Kim’s home, as if they were her own dog. They will hang out as one of the family, joining her dog Rollo and her two very social Maine Coon cats, Pierre and Polina.

Dogs must be housetrained, friendly with other dogs and at least non-agressive toward cats. They must not excessively bark indoors or have destructive behaviors if left alone for up to 4-5 hours. We do have crates if your dog is more comfortable that way!

You can add on hikes during the days for an additional fee, but all boarders get potty walks morning, noon and night. Kim often will take boarders up to her family’s estate in NH where they can run around their 3 acre fully enclosed back yard on the weekends.

Boarders do no have to live in our exact service area, anyone in Somerville or Arlington can apply. Kim is available to pick up and drop off boarding dogs during regular work hours (Monday-Thursday 7:30am-6pm, Friday 9am-3pm). Weekend boarding is available, but pick up and drop off is not available on weekend days - it must occur during the hours above. Please contact us for more details.
